Is my original video modified?

No. A new file is produced and the original stays as it is until you choose to replace it yourself.

Can the text be edited later?

Not in the result — it is part of the picture. To change it, add the text again to the original recording.

Why is my text hard to read?

Usually it is too small or the background too busy. Increase the size or put a semi-transparent panel behind it.
