Keep the contrast strong: a dark pattern on a light background. Inverted colours and gradients can prevent recognition entirely.

Does a QR code expire?

The pattern itself stays valid. If it points to an address, it works only as long as that address is reachable.

Can I change the content later?

No. The content is fixed in the pattern. To stay flexible, have the code point to an address whose destination you control.

Why is my code not recognised?

Usually it is printed too small, has no margin, or has too little contrast. Check those three things first.
