Inverting image colours

This tool replaces every colour in an image with its opposite: light areas become dark, dark areas light, and each hue shifts to its complement.

The result looks like a photographic negative.

Is my original image modified?

No. A new file is produced and the original stays as it is until you choose to replace it yourself.

Is the inversion lossless?

The calculation itself loses nothing. Saving the result in a compressing format can still cost quality.

Why does my result look unexpected?

Images with transparent areas invert differently depending on the background. Check the result on the surface where it will actually be used.
