How to Convert PDF to RTF Online
PDF to RTF Converter
This tool accepts PDF files and returns RTF files. PDF has a fixed layout while RTF reflows text, so the text has to be extracted and laid out again. Multi-column text, tables and image placement change the most.
How to convert PDF to RTF
- Select or drag PDF files into the upload area.
- Confirm that the requested output format is RTF.
- Start the conversion and review the status of each file.
- Download each result once processing has finished.
Convert several files in one batch
The interface currently accepts up to 10 files per batch. Files are processed one after another; duplicates, mislabeled files and damaged files may be skipped or reported as errors.
File size after conversion
The size is hard to predict, because the text is extracted while images are re-embedded a different way.
Check the result
Check paragraph order, tables and multi-column text. If the source is a photograph or a scan there is no text to extract, so the result will be missing its content.
Limits worth knowing
This tool changes the file format. It does not guarantee that every piece of metadata, every format-specific property or every embedded object survives the conversion. Keep the source file and test the result in the application where you plan to use it.
Frequently asked questions
Can a scanned PDF be converted?
A scan contains only images and no extractable text, so the result will have no text content.
Are tables preserved?
They usually shift. A table in a PDF is a set of drawn lines and text placed at coordinates, not a table structure.
Is my original file replaced?
No. The file on your device is left untouched.
