How to Convert AAC to AMR Online

AAC to AMR Converter

This tool accepts AAC files and returns AMR files. Both are lossy formats, so this is a second compression pass over the same material: detail discarded when the AAC file was created does not come back, and this pass discards more.

How to convert AAC to AMR

  1. Select or drag AAC files into the upload area.
  2. Confirm that the requested output format is AMR.
  3. Start the conversion and review the status of each file.
  4. Download each result once processing has finished.

Convert several files in one batch

The interface currently accepts up to 10 files per batch. Files are processed one after another; duplicates, mislabeled files and damaged files may be skipped or reported as errors.

File size after conversion

The size follows the output bitrate rather than any fixed ratio. The result can be larger than the source without sounding any better.

Check the result

Listen closely to instruments with rich harmonics and to the silence between phrases. If you need a high-quality copy, convert from the uncompressed original rather than from an already-compressed file.

Limits worth knowing

This tool changes the file format. It does not guarantee that every piece of metadata, every format-specific property or every embedded object survives the conversion. Keep the source file and test the result in the application where you plan to use it.

Frequently asked questions

Will the conversion improve the sound?

No. Both formats are lossy, so quality can only stay the same or get worse.

Is it safe to convert back and forth repeatedly?

No. Every hop between two lossy formats discards a little more.

Is my original file replaced?

No. The file on your device is left untouched.
